Installation tips for your acoustic foam tiles.

Plan.

Dry fit wherever possible, and plan where you tiles are going to be placed. Then check for potential obstacles that are going to stop them fitting neatly to the wall, such as speaker cables, and then make slots to accommodate them.

Layout.

Having planned your acoustic foam tile installation, you may have found that you need to reduce the dimension of a tile to fit your desired location. If possible, try to orientate the tiles that require cutting such that you are cutting at the bottom of a valley. This is an easier position and direction on the tile to trim.

Cut.

This quality acoustic foam can be cut with good kitchen scissors or a sharp craft knife (or your mums sewing scissors if you’re feeling brave). Try to make long smooth cuts as this will result in a neater edge. Its not easy to trim thin slithers of foam, so try to be accurate with your measuring and cut once.

Install.

There are a few options for fixing acoustic foam tiles in place. When low mounting bass traps, they can most likely be placed where required. For sticking tiles to walls you can use either spray adhesive, double sided tape or other double sided sticky pads.

Consider the long term layout plan, and use appropriate adhesives for either more easily removable tiles, or more secure permanent installations.

Where the condition of the wall is of particular importance we would recommend sticking the foam tiles to a sacrificial board, which can then be attached.

All of our products are intended for adult installation, and should be placed out of reach of children. Small chunks of foam could be torn from the product and present a swallowing or choking hazard.
